What is the Best Way to Begin your Fitness Journey?

What is the Best Way to Begin your Fitness Journey?

Have you ever made a goal or plan to begin your journey to losing weight or becoming healthier? Or have you tried to research what is the best way to start losing weight or becoming more healthy? If you have, you know it can be complicated to figure out how to start your fitness journey. With so much information in our world today, there can be many misconceptions or misleading information being thrown at you. In the fitness industry, many will lead you to begin with buying products that will help you lose weight but that can be false to many points. Before purchasing any product, it is important to understand what your goal in this fitness journey is. In this post, we’ll define what fitness is and what are the key steps to begin your fitness journey.

What is Fitness?
“Physical Fitness is one’s ability to execute daily activities with optimal performance, endurance, and strength with the management of disease, fatigue, and stress and reduced sedentary behavior”, defined by experts. In other words, fitness is the goal to becoming healthier. Fitness doesn’t mean being able to lift heavy like bodybuilders or being able to run like a runner in a marathon. This is where most people begin the misconception of the definition of fitness.

Why is it important to begin your Fitness Journey?
You may be prone to say, “let's start the fitness journey right now”, but in truth you have to fully understand the difference between a fitness journey and a fitness goal. Many can take the idea of a fitness journey and only make it a fitness goal. I am not saying that a fitness goal is less important, but I believe that you must understand what it means to take a journey. A journey has
a beginning, middle and an end. A goal is just to achieve a task. So, to begin your fitness journey, there will be a beginning, a middle and an end. For this post, we are focused on tackling down how to begin our fitness journey.

How does our Fitness journey begin?
When it comes to starting a fitness journey, the first step is to define your fitness goal. Whether it is losing a certain amount of weight, a certain percentage of fat or being able to do something that you could not do before. Once you have defined your fitness goal, you must ask yourself, “what are the components to achieving that goal?” This is where you can begin the second step which is defining what you must take in consideration to get to your goal. Whether that is
figuring out a workout routine, a healthy diet consumption, or fixing your sleeping schedule. These components can really affect your body during your fitness journey. The last step is to take action. You can’t start your fitness journey if you do not take action.

What is a fitness Goal?
A fitness goal can be any goal that you want to achieve. For example, your goal can be to lose 10 pounds by a certain date or be able to run with your kids. Your goal really determines what you want to achieve at the end of your fitness goal. It is important to have a fitness goal during your fitness journey because you need to see how far you have come since beginning your fitness journey. The best example of this is the movie, Rocky. In the movie, Rocky’s goal was to be able to win the boxing match to become the heavyweight boxing world champion. With this goal in mind this is when Rocky knew what he had to do to achieve this goal. By figuring out your fitness goals, you can determine next steps to achieve your goal.

What are the Components within a Fitness Journey?
When it comes to the different components of a fitness journey, I like to break it down into three important components. These three components are your workout routine, diet, and sleep schedule. These components are the very key to making your fitness journey a good or bad one. Each component has a specific purpose in helping you become healthier.

Workout Routine
There are many different types of workout routine that you can do to help you achieve your fitness goals. For example, if you wanted to build big muscle, you would take a bodybuilding workout approach to building big muscle. Another example would be if you want to run a marathon, you will have to take a runners workout routine to help increase your running distance and speed. So, understanding your Fitness goal can help clarify what you need to do for a
workout routine. But for someone who is just wanting to begin working out without any plan, I would recommend going and trying new things. It is wise to talk to someone with experience about how to do different types of workouts properly but besides that the first step is to just build a habit of going to work out. Dieting
There are many people who think that working out is the only way to lose weight and be healthy. Though this statement can be somewhat true, it is not always about working but what you put in your body daily. If your diet consists of eating fast food every day, you probably won’t see results of your body changing as fast. Many people in the U.S. struggle with this because many of us were never taught to portion out meals but just eat as much as we can. I had this issue with
myself. I would overeat my meal portions and not see any results when I am working out consistently. I am not saying to do extreme diets where you eat only salads or diets like keto. Instead, we have to learn how to portion out meals and consume what the body needs. This is the key to losing weight and becoming healthier. A lot of people who are starting their fitness journey tend to look at just adding on the workout routine but never taking their dieting seriously. Dieting is the most important component to think about when it comes to your fitness
journey.

Sleep
As you may have already guessed, sleep is important. There are many who don’t allow their body to rest enough so they can recover. It is also important to know that too much sleep can also have a negative effect on your body. The correct amount of sleep a person need is 7-8 hours. You probably have heard doctors say that or any online fitness coach say but unfortunately what they
said is true. Sleep is essential for your fitness journey!

Take Action
I cannot stress enough that to begin your fitness journey you have to take action. I have seen many “talk the talk” that they will begin their fitness journey, but I never see them ever take action. Taking action is so important because how can you begin your journey if you don’t take that first step. It can be hard to take action because you feel like you are afraid of taking that first step. You can feel like you are walking to the unknown, but is it a journey if you don’t step into
the unknown and learn more about yourself? In the fitness journey, you will find that a lot of people who are already walking in their journey will support you along the way. They are just waiting for you to take action. This fitness journey is not by yourself but with others!

When it comes to looking at products, you must ask yourself what you exactly need. There are many products out there that can give you a boost when working out. Pre-Workout is one of the essential things to have when you feel like not going to workout. Protein shake is another essential thing to consume after a workout. If you do not consume enough protein throughout the
day, your body will take a little long to recover. So, a protein shake can help with that to help you meet the requirements that your body needs. These two products will help you throughout your fitness journey!
